Please, Build The Artwork
DISCLAIMER: This game was build in ~72 hours for the GMTK Game-Jam and is not a finished product. I might continue working on it there is interest ;)
Please, Build The Artwork is a nostalgic strategic city-builder where you build towers with your Bauhaus Bauspiel blockset.
You'll play with (part of) the original blockset designed by Alma Siedhoff-Busher for the first exhibition of the Bauhaus school creations in 1923.
Bauhaus was a German art school operational from 1919 to 1933 that combined crafts and fine arts. The school became famous for its approach to design, which attempted to unify individual artistic vision with the principles of mass production and emphasis on function.
Alma Siedhoff-Busher was one of the first woman in history that was allowed to have a higher education in Wood sculpture.
GAMEPLAY
Add blocks to the playground.
Get points when similar colored blocks overlap, the more overlap, the more points.
Finish towers by putting a 'roof' (triangle block) on top and get an extra tower bonus for:
- the height of your tower
- the amount of blocks in the tower (connected to the roof)
Make enough points to survive the round and survive the gravity check on your structure.
New round = new blocks.
KNOWN BUGS
- Triangle blocks don't detect overlap on triangle-side

wow this has potential for some interesting push and pull! I feel guided in building but still have some creativity. You could go more puzzle with this and learn so building techniques and then use those with creativity mode. Looks good and pleasant music! Take care
I think I'd be kicked out of bauhaus :(
(The game was really polished and I had a great time)
What are you saying? Looks great! Functional and all.
